I’m shocked to say that Fall & the cooler temperatures are nearly upon us. Although I certainly will miss summer, we are heading into a great time of the year for specialty beers. There are some many great seasonal flavors during the Fall, and we cannot wait to share our take on these favorites.

The first of these beers to be released will be our Oktoberfest, available August 22 in the taproom.  This fall classic is a great amber lager with great malt character and weighs in at 5.5% ABV. This is a great beer to pair most grilled fare, but is especially well paired with grilled pork chops!

The end of August will bring about a personal favorite style of mine, the pumpkin and yam beers.  Although there are many approaches to this style, our Ignite the Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin Ale focuses on subtle spices and light residual sweetness. This beer will be available in the taproom starting August 29th – pairing perfectly this weekend with Lerch’s Pumpkin Donuts (at Ignite 8/29-8/31).

Our Russian Imperial Stout (RIS), 18 Degrees, will be making a return the tap room this fall as well.  This 11% RIS has great roast and coffee characters and does not overtly show off its’ strong character.  We are also excited to be offering out 1st Barrel-Aged version of this beer for those cool evenings on the patio, kicking off our Anniversary Weekend on September 26th.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Ignite the Lights, which has been a crowd favorite since we served our first batch.  The use of local Akron honey and fresh ginger in this beer balances nicely and at 7.5%, it can help warm you on a cool evening.  We had a lot of fun with our Christmas in July this year, but we are certainly excited to sit enjoy one of these as the snow starts to fly. Look for it in the taproom starting November 1st!

Looking forward to a great season of beers with you! Cheers!
