On Saturday, May 6th the Ignite team will be participating in the Stewart’s Caring Place Hope Walk to show support for those who have been touched by Cancer.

This family-friendly event will offer activity stations, entertainment, food trucks and more. The highlight of the even is a 2 mile walk together through the surrounding neighborhoods of Stewart’s Caring Place; all to celebrate community, friendship, and courage.

What is Stewart’s Caring Place?
Stewart’s Caring Place opened its doors in October of 2004, with the goal of providing support services and programs, in a relaxed and caring environment, at no cost to individuals and families touched by cancer. Stewart’s provides an array of programs and services, including wigs & beauty programs, group fitness classes, food pantry and nutrition services, and much more.

Stewart’s was founded by a group of community members led by Mimi Surloff, the wife of the late Dr. Stewart Surloff – a podiatrist from Akron who’s dream was to open a facility that offered non-medical support services to those affected by cancer in his community after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

Why is it important to the Ignite Team?
Cancer is a word that many know all too well, and cancer support and awareness is a cause that is very near and dear to the Ignite team. Many individuals on our team have been touched by cancer in some way, and we feel that having a space like Stewart’s Caring Place in the community is crucial. Through the support of individuals and organizations in our community, Stewart’s can make an impact on so many.

We hope you will join us on Saturday, May 6th at the Stewart’s Caring Place Hope Walk to show support for those who have been touched by cancer. We love Making Beer Make A Difference with you!
